Hello Friends,
I’m so excited to share with you all that the Cramming for the Apocalypse Podcast is coming back for season 2!
Admittedly, I wasn’t sure if/when the podcast would come back as my momentum and bandwidth to conduct interviews and edit episodes has decreased drastically. But catalyzed by the devastation of the L.A. wildfires and the chaos of the first days of the new White House Administration, I realized that there might be a need for folks to learn about preparedness in audio form.
With this idea in mind, I reached out to my friend
who worked with me on the 10-part preparedness series last year to see if she’d like to work on this with me. And because she’s the best, she was down! So, starting next Friday, February 21st, we will be publishing weekly(ish) podcast episodes that address each of the preparedness series’ topics with a few bonus episodes.
To learn more about Brekke, check out this podcaset episode from last year!
Tell Us What Questions You Have
In addition to covering the topics from the toolkit, we’ll also dedicate time to answering practical questions or concerns from this community. If you have questions you’d like us to address, you can let us know by commenting below, responding to this email, or emailing us at crammingfortheapocalypse@gmail.com
Free For Everyone — But Paid Upgrades Help a Lot
These podcasts will be FREE to everyone. And to give you a little bonus, we’ll be removing the paywall of each of the toolkit topics as we publish these podcasts.
However, I really want to emphasize the importance of the paid subscriptions. I know from experience that it’s so easy to feel saturated with information and one must choose which Substacks to upgrade to. And it can be hard to justify the investment when you already get so much from the free subscription.
However, what choosing to upgrade does is helps me pay Brekke for her time and energy on this. I was able to pay her a bit for co-writing the series last year with me and that is because of generous paid subscribers. I would like to continue to do that and the more who upgrade, the more I can pay her.
More Paid-Only Content to Come
I also want to note that for those who do upgrade to paid, there will be additional paid-only bonus content coming. I’m working with another past podcast guest on developing a toolkit series similar to last year’s, but this time about emotional preparedness for disasters and climate change.
I’ll have more info about that soon, but in the meantime, you can learn more about my co-creator of that series, Kat Davis, in this podcast.
Thank you all for coming along this journey with me and I’m excited for this new direction.
